The fund-raising efforts of the Santa Clarita Optimist Foundation, a public charity tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, support programs of the Canyon Country Optimist Club, which help youth in need. Our mission is to “to help bring out the best in Santa Clarita’s kids today and tomorrow, by providing support for youth in need.”

I have been a member of an Optimist Club for 35 years. During that time I have served the Optimist International as Vice President, the Pacific Southwest District as Governor, the Canyon Country Optimist Club for two terms, and now I am fortunate to be President of the Santa Clarita Optimist Foundation, a public charity. I am currently retired from the retail furniture industry, and enjoy living in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Linda has served the children of Santa Clarita for many years as a powerful advocate for disabled and disadvantaged children. She has recently volunteered to serve as a member of the Foundation Board of Directors.

Susan Russell

Director

Susan Russell has 35 years of experience in public health and academia. A lifelong volunteer, she enjoys serving the community. Susan is pleased to be a member of the Foundation Board and assist with the planning and implementation of Safety Town, a much-needed safety education program for Santa Clarita's young children.

Adelaide Moniz

Born in Providence, R.I, Adelaide Barbara Manning Moniz married in 1952 , moved to California in 1957, and then to Santa Clarita in 1967. She and her husband Norbert, have four children and 8 grandchildren. Adelaide was Secretary/ Treasurer of 4M Corporation, and retired in 1996. She has been involved in Optimist club service since 1961 and believes in giving back to the community.

Bryan has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for 25 years. When he is not working or spending time with family and friends, he enjoys giving back and helping support the community. In Bryan's words: What is great about the Optimist Foundation is what we are able to do to help support the youth of our community and seeing the impact it has on children's lives.

Vivian joined the Canyon Country Optimist Club in 2016 and has quickly shown herself to be an active, effective problem solver. She recently agreed to serve as a member of the Foundation Board.
